Catherine Hollingworth was a speech therapist and child drama pooneer. She was born in Brechin and educated at the Royal Academy of Music. She became Aberdeen's first teacher of speech in 1941. In 1942 she created the Abredeen Children's Theatre which attracted international recognition for its pioneering work in the field of child drama. She wrote a book of reminiscences in 1997, and was awarded the OBE.
