Catherine Herbert, The Countess of Dunmore

Lady Catherine Herbert was the daughter of George Augustus Herbert, 11th Earl of Pembroke and Catherine Woronzow. She married Alexander Edward Murray, 6th Earl of Dunmore, son of George Murray, 5th Earl of Dunmore and Lady Susan Hamilton, on 27 September 1836. She died on 12 February 1886. Her married name became Murray. As a result of her marriage, Lady Catherine Herbert was styled as Countess of Dunmore on 11 November 1836. She promoted Harris tweed as a fashionable cloth for sporting and country wear.
