Isabella Simpson was the daughter of Alexander Simpson and Isabella Watson. She married William Browning in 1819. She was widowed in 1843. She founded the Browning Bursary at the University of Aberdeen in memory of her husband, the Rev William Browning. This bursary still exists today.
