St Triduana

Also known as Trodwell and Trodline.
Dates: 
approx 7th or 8th century.

Legend tells that King Nechtan fell in love with Triduana, but she was determined to remain a virgin. To repell Nechtan she removed her own eyes. She is believed to have been buried at Restalrig. Various miraculous cures of blindness have been attributed to her.
