Isobel Pagan

Isobel Pagan was born lame, which restricted her employment options. She kept an inn, and entertained her patrons by singing. She was illiterate, but a local tailor, Gemmell wrote out the poems she composed.
A collection of Poems and Songs was published in Glasgow in 1805.
She died in 1821 and is buried in Muirkirk.
