Georgina Dallas MacKenzie

Born in Insch, Aberdeenshire, in 1873, she was the third of four children of George Dallas, watchmaker and Jessie Olive. Her father died when she was nine and her mother died shortly before her twelfth birthday.

In the 1891 census she was a scholar, boarding with Isabella Fyvie Mayo. In 1901 she was a Private Secretary at Haddo House, listed second out of eighteen servants.

In 1913, the "Aberdeen Journal" reported: "Lady Aberdeen gave a dinner party last week at the Viceregal Lodge in honour of Miss Georgina Dallas, whom their Excellencies have known since her childhood, and who has been Lady Aberdeen's private secretary for several years."

She married Kenneth P. MacKenzie in 1913.

She died in Aberdeen in 1956, her death certificate signed by Dr Mary Esslemont
