The eldest daughter of Katherine Morison and John Forbes of Boyndie. She married Alexander Scott in 1807. He predeceased her, leaving the bulk of his estate to endow a hospital, subject to a life rent in favour of his widow. Catherine Scott waived her right to part of the liferent to expedite the building of the hospital (now known as Alexander Scott's Hospital Eventide Home, Huntly). She is buried at Dunbennan Kirkyard, Huntly.
