Sister Mary Urquhart QAIMNS was one of 76 female service personnel who drowned when the S.S. Khedive Ismail was torpedoed in the Indian Ocean on 12th February 1944. She is also commemorated on the Brookwood Memorial.
The third worst shipping disaster of WW2. In total 1,297 of the ship's complement were lost.

Williamina also had two brothers – Alexander, Royal Engineers and Thomas, Cameron Highlanders who were both killed in the war.
She also had a brother-in-law who also died in the war.
