On 1st November 1889 the partially built carpet factory collapsed, killing twenty nine women and girls. This is dedicated to their memory.

The efforts of many people ensured the survival of Aberdeen Arts Centre when it was threatened with closure in 1998.
Without the leadership and determination of
ANNIE INGLIS
the campaign may not have succeeded.
The Arts Centre was eventually leased to Castlegate Arts Limited, a charitable trust, on 27th February 2001.
Plaque to Mother St Basil
On the 14th February 1862, Mother St Basil, Foundress of the Congregation of the Poor Sisters of Nazareth arrived in Aberdeen, along with six other sisters to make their first foundation outside Hammersmith in this house where they remained until the 10th December 1872.

This tablet is placed here by her family in thanksgiving for Helen Victoria Barbour 1891 - 1982 For 63 years her home in this glen was a place of laughter joy and inspiration for countless people from far and near
Glen Fincastle Chapel is where the B8019 (Killiecrankie to Tummel Bridge) takes a sharp bend to cross the Fincastle burn. The chapel faces you if you are travelling westward.

Plaque to Ethel Prescott Ditchfield
In Memory of Ethel Prescott, wife of Alfred James Ogston, British Vice-Consul, Killed in the earthquake at Messina, 28th December 1908.
This plaque is adjacent to a large marble memorial to Francis Ogston, her husband's grandfather, and Francis H Ogston, her husband's half-brother.
Memorial to Ann Allardyce
Sacred to the memory of Ann, the wife of Alexander Allardyce of Dunnottar and daughter of Alexander Baxter of Glassel. She was married the 7th of August 1786, gave birth to her son Alexander Baxter Allardyce the 23rd of July, and departed this life at Aberdeen the 1st of August 1787, aged 28 years.
