Mary Ann Carneby Finlayson
Mary Ann Carneby Finlayson was born in Thurso, the daughter of John Finlayson and Jessie Downie Carneby. Her father was factor to Sir Alexander Matheson.
She married architect Alexander Ross in Edinburgh in 1865. They had ten children (James, Jessie, Jane, Mary, Ann, Margaret, Alexandra, Henry, John and Caroline)
Her husband was Provost of Inverness from 1889-1895.

Laura Stewart Sandeman
Laura Stewart Sandeman was born in Bradshaw, Greater Manchester, in 1862. She grew up in Stanley, Perthshire, where her father owned a mill.
She studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, receiving a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1900, and became a Doctor of Medicine in 1903.
She set up a medical practice in Aberdeen in 1905 and took an active role in social welfare and helping the plight of the poor, particularly in the east end of the city and in Torry.

Elizabeth MacKintosh was born in Inverness, the oldest daughter of Colin MacKintosh, fruiterer, and Josephine Horne. She was a pupil at Inverness Royal Academy. In 1914 she trained at Anstey Physical Training College in Erdington, Birmingham. She worked in England.

Janet Strang had been a Board member of Cunninghame Housing Association for twenty five years and chair for five when her name was put forward. She was a Community Councillor prior to joining CHA. She is also a member of the Tenant Participation Association Scotland (TPAS) Board of Directors.
