Additional information:
The main theme of the window is women’s role in the life of the church. The main image is of Queen/Saint Margaret teaching her husband, King Malcolm III, to read. Other themes include mission work (illustrated by the compass used by Mary Slessor while working in Calabar), education, service to the community (symbolised by the badge of the Church of Scotland Women’s Guild), archaeology (a life-long interest of Elizabeth Mackay).
