Beatrice Campbell was the seventh child of John Campbell, fishmonger, and Annie Morgan Campbell. She had five sisters, Margaret, Jeannie, Jessie, Annie and Mary and two brothers, Robert and Archibald. The family lived at Eden View, Cupar. Beatrice attended Castleview School, Cupar.
