Amy Mary Ricardo

Amy Mary Ricardo was the eldest daughter of Percy Ricardo and Matilda Hensley.

She married Charles Henry, Earl of March (later the 7th Duke of Richmond and Gordon) on 10 November 1868. The couple had three sons and two daughters.

The Countess often played the organ in Gordon Chapel during services, including the re-dedication ceremony in 1874.

She died on 23 August 1879. She is buried in Chichester Cathedral. .

Elizabeth Georgiana Leveson-Gower

Elizabeth Georgiana Leveson-Gower was born the eldest daughter of the 2nd Duke of Sutherland and Lady Harriet Howard. She married George Douglas Campbell, Marquess of Lorne, eldest son and heir to the 7th Duke of Argyll in 1844. In 1847 she became the Duchess of Argyll when her husband succeeded his father. The couple had twelve children, five sons and seven daughters.

Fanny Octavia Louisa Spencer-Churchill

Daughter of John Spencer-Churchill, 7th Duke of Marlborough, and Lady Frances Vane, she was born on 31 Jan 1853. In 1873 she married Edward Marjoribanks, 2nd Baron Tweedmouth. The couple had one son.

She hosted gatherings of supporters of William Gladstone, and also spoke publically in favour of Liberal political issues.

Her obituary describes her as one of the finest shots in the UK, and a brilliant horsewoman. She helped develop the Golden retriever breed of dog.

She died of cancer in 1904

She married Sir George Sinclair of Ulbster. Their eldest surviving son, John, born in 1754, was the feudal superior when Janetstown was laid out. They also had three daughters, Helen, Mary and Janet.
