Relaunching Women of Scotland

On 10th March 2012, the Women of Scotland website is being relaunched to allow everyone to add memorials to women from across the country.

Building on the work done by Girlguiding Scotland during the Big Name Hunt, we hope to develop the site into a comprehensive national database of memorials to women in Scotland. To do this, we need your help!

Perhaps you know of a memorial to a woman in your area that hasn’t been marked on our map? Or maybe you know the story behind a name? We need you to find the monuments, landmarks, street names and buildings that mark the lives and achievements of women (whether famous, humble or notorious) who helped to shape Scotland.

On March 10th, we're hoping that women across the country will join us in exploring their local area to discover memorials - you can find out more about the relaunch event here - or join us on Facebook and Twitter!

If you know of a memorial that isn't on our map, or can add more information about a memorial or woman, please sign up to the site here - once you've signed up, you can log in and add new memorials, help us to improve locations and add information about the women being commemorated.
